This photo competition is run in conjunction with the PNGDA monthly Social Divers Night. Voting will be done in stages, with the best image chosen every 6 weeks and the winner announced at each PNGDA Social Divers Night which is held in Port Moresby. Voting closes at 00:01AM the day of each PNGDA Social Divers Night. Dates for the events can be found on PNGDA FB page. 

Competition rules 

• Each participant may only submit one photo for each category per competition period (i.e. one for the underwater category and one for the cultural/landscape category between each PNG divers social night).
   
• Each photo may only be submitted once for the entire competition.
   
• The competition is open to all photographers. All photos must be the work of the
  photographer entering.
   
• There is no fee to enter the photo competition.
   
• Photos must have been taken whilst on a trip with a PNGDA member.
   
• Photos must have been taken within the last 12 months (01 January - 31 December 2023)
   
• Submissions must include the following to be eligible for participation

                     o Name of the photographer 

                     o Date of image taken
                    o Name of operator they were with when image was taken 

• Global adjustments (such as adjusting exposure and white balance) are permitted.
   
• Participants may be asked to provide the RAW file of their submission to verify the
  authenticity of their images.
   
• Images that have been created using AI or do not comply with the competition rules will be deleted by the moderators and the entrant deliberately cheating will be banned from any future PNGDA Photo Competitions.
   
• The winner(s) of the Photo Competition (the "Winner") will be with the most votes at 00:01AM the day of the Divers Social Night and will receive one of the prizes.
   
• The image with the highest number of votes will win the major prize. Judge’s decision will be final.
   
• The prizes are donated by our various sponsors who have sole rights over validity and exchange of the prize once awarded.

Image usage 

• The copyright of all images will remain with the photographer.
   
• PNGDA Photo Competition reserves the right to reproduce the best images royalty free, but only in connection with sharing the competition results and promoting the PNGDA Photo Competition. Photos will always be used with credit to the photographer.
   
• We hope that many publications and our sponsors will showcase the results of this competition and benefit the photographers with high-profile exposure for their talents.
   
• Entrants should expect to have their images used for media campaigns relating to the competition by the sponsoring organisation. The copyright of the image will always remain with the photographer.

• While we have required you to enter using your email address, we will NEVER share this with anyone outside the organisers.
   
• We will only contact you with regard to this competition, and for no other reason.
